Hi everyone,
I’m trying to simulate stringers (1mm thin round glass threads) on glass scales in KeyShot. I model these stringers as a torus with the radius matching the shape of the scale. The stringer lies on the scale but appears segmented/faceted, and I can’t get rid of this issue.
I’ve tried:
-
Adjusting settings in BricsCAD (facetres, surftab, etc.)
-
Using different export formats
-
Re-tessellation in KeyShot (results in a NURBS error, despite the geometry being very basic)
-
using differents methods creating these strings, f.e. sweep a circle (0.5mm radius) along an arc.
None of these resolve the problem. Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this segmentation issue or achieve smooth stringers in KeyShot?
Attached is a view of the normals in Keyshot, you can see the segments along the arc are too long.
Thanks in advance!
